New Zealand: Experience the Cities

by Carissa Hickok

If you really enjoy the hustle and bustle of a new city, appreciate friendly crowds of people, and love stunning scenery, then New Zealand just might be for you. From Auckland to Waikato, there are so many spots to explore and so much to take in. Those who enjoy fine dining while on vacation will certainly appreciate the delectable delights that New Zealand offers. Those who really enjoying getting to know the locals will appreciate just how enjoyable the people in this area are to be around. Experience a new way of living. Experience the cities of New Zealand. It certainly won’t leave you disappointed.

Auckland

Auckland is consistently ranked as one of the most livable cities in the world. It is actually the biggest Polynesian city on Earth and it boasts close to 200 different ethnic groups, which makes it diverse, to say the least. The skyline is picture-perfect for those who enjoy taking photos that are frame-worthy. The food is unbeatable, for those who don’t consider a vacation complete until they have enjoyed some fine dining. If you like seafood, the restaurants here certainly should not be missed. There is something for everyone in Auckland, so it is a city which should make your list of places to check out!

Waikato

If you’re interested in learning more about the dairy industry, you should start here. Why? Because Waikato happens to be one of the richest agricultural areas on the planet. Check out the Waikato River, which is the longest river in New Zealand. Thoroughbred horse racing is popular here, as is getting out and getting active. So take a nice bike ride around Waikato and get to know the city, then stop for a scrumptious lunch. This is a spot that is great for families, solo travelers and even couples in search of a romantic getaway.

Wellington

Don’t forget to visit the capital city while you’re visiting New Zealand. In this city, you are surrounded by water but also steep hills. There are so many cafes here that you just might feel like you are in a convenient place like New York – except the scenery is entirely different (and arguably better). You can enjoy galleries, festivals, restaurants and museums, and then take in the views by biking, hiking or just enjoying a leisurely stroll. You get the best of both worlds here in Wellington, so it should definitely make your list of places to see while in New Zealand.

These are just some of the very popular cities to visit in New Zealand. There is so much to see and do, and it would take your entire trip to take it all in! Spend a week or two in New Zealand if possible, and really explore all that it has to offer. It is absolutely beautiful, the people are friendly, the food is tasty and the scenery is unbeatable. You can’t go wrong if you decide to book a holiday in New Zealand.
