4 Unique Reasons to Choose China For Your Next Trip

Do you plan to visit China? If so, you have made a great choice! China is a huge country, spanning more than 3,700,000 square miles. Since your trip will likely last only a few days, you need to make the most of it. You need to know what the best activities to try in China are. Of course, you can go to Beijing, Shanghai or Tianjin and ask around about things to do, or purchase an expensive guide. However, you can save money and get the most out of your trip by going directly to the places in which you can find great activities.

1. Beijing Sidecars

Beijing is a huge city, where modern architecture blends with traditional Chinese architecture. The city is full of alleyways lined with traditional Chinese houses. Families have lived in these houses for centuries, so there are many areas full of history. Also, the Chinese are very welcoming and warm, so you can even interact with local families and admire their lifestyle. An open-air sidecar can get you around Beijing and enable you to see the skyscrapers, as well as the small traditional houses. You can get anywhere in one of these, and the drivers know a lot of great places to take you.

2. Playing With Giant Pandas

Chine is home to these amazing creatures, so specific areas are full of them. These adorable Panda bears are gentle and can be seen in their natural habitat if you employ the services of a guide. There is a Panda Breeding Center in Chengdu where you can actually touch these magnificent animals. You can play with them and see how they live up close. The breeding center is similar to their natural habitat and visitors have the chance to learn about the Pandas and about the conservation efforts. There is also a volunteer program you can sign up for.

3. Dunhuang Dunes

You probably didn’t imagine that you can ride camels in China. Well, if you visit western China, don’t miss Dunhuang city and its dunes. This is known as the “City of Sands” and is located on the ancient Silk Road. The city is in the middle of a desert, full of dunes and camels. And yes, you can ride camels across the dunes. If you are interested in ancient history, visit the Mogao Caves to see ancient carvings and artwork. Also, there are the Buddhist caves if you want to learn more about the history of the Silk Road.

4. Camping - the Great Wall

You surely know about the Great Wall and some of the history that surrounds this amazing structure. However, did you know that you could camp at the Great Wall? Just imagine how the moon and stars shine above the battlements and defense structures, on a clear dark night. You can spend the night inside a guard tower, just as the old Chinese guards did centuries ago. You have the unique opportunity to be transported back in time to when the Great Wall and its guards were all that stood between the wonders of China and the Mongol hordes.
